Mum felt 'disgusting' after her stretch marks were removed

Laura Green is a proud mum, who has stretch marks on her stomach as a result of a successful pregnancy. 

These stretch marks symbolise a lot for Laura, as she tragically lost her first pregnancy. 

The mum-of-one does not see her marks as scars, but reminders of how lucky she is to have had her gorgeous baby. 

When Laura was almost at full term, she decided to have a photo shoot to document the special memory of her pregnancy. 

When the photographs arrived, Laura noticed that her stretch marks had been removed from the images. 

“I didn’t know how to feel, but felt disgusted at myself. I was made to feel like crap,” she told kidspot. 

Laura claims she was not given the option to keep her stretch marks, they were simply removed without question. 

“These scars tell a story. My tattoo tells a story, and my stretch marks do as well. I look at my stretch marks and it means I had a successful pregnancy,” she said.

“With it all removed, it’s not me. I look at that photo and don’t see me.”

Laura explained that is important for women to love their post-pregnancy bodies, and the miracle of bringing life into the world.
