Mother donates 131 GALLONS of breast milk to honour her son!

Demi Frandsen has suffered every mother's worst nightmare, only getting to spend 10 short months with her beloved son, Leo.

Baby Leo was born two months early and had an extreme case of gastroschisis, spending his short life in a hospital ward.

When Leo died at the age of ten months, his grieving mother decided to do something truly remarkable.

Demi told WOWT that she often felt helpless as she watched her son in the ICU ward, but breast feeding was the only way she could help.

She said that she treasured every second she got to spend with her precious Leo. Over the ten month period of Leo's life, Demi had stockpiled 518 litres of breast milk.

The heart-broken mother was waking herself up every three hours to pump, and made the decision to donate this huge amount of milk to the Children's Milk Depot.

A spokesperson for the depot released a statement, where she praised Demi's kindness: "With all that was going on in her life she found it in her heart to give to other babies."

The breast milk is sterilised and pasteurised before being sent back out to babies in need.

When asked about her genrous donation, she said "He was worth it. He was worth all of this. His life in 10 months was the best 10 months of mine."
