Meet Lucas Warren - the adorable one-year-old who has just made history
One-year-old Lucas Warren has just made history, and has, no doubt, brought a smile to everyone's face today!
The adorable little boy has been chosen as Gerber's 'spokebaby' (an American store that sells baby food), and he's the first tot with Down syndrome to win.
He also won a lovely cash prize of $50,000, which his parents Cortney and Jason Warren are putting aside for his education.
The little tot from Dalton, Georgia was chosen out of 140,000 entries, and will now feature in all of Gerber's ad campaigns.
"He may have Down syndrome, but he's always Lucas first," said Cortney told TODAY.
"He's got an awesome personality and he goes through the milestones of every child… we're hoping when he grows up and looks back on this, he'll be proud of himself and not ashamed of his disability."
Not surprisingly, everyone is excited for both Lucas and his family, and what this win means for children with special needs.
My brother will be 32 Saturday and has Down Syndrome. Loved seeing beautiful baby Lucas become the next #gerberbaby on @TODAYshow !! Seeing the acceptance and love for those with DS grow from where it was 32 years ago makes my heart so incredibly happy!!! #DownSyndrome https://t.co/wYOBto2JnH

A company like Gerber has the power to change negative stigmas against people with disabilities, and to combat racial and cultural stereotypes. What a step in the right direction of progress. Bravo! #gerberbaby https://t.co/ipR92ja913
