Kids will love these EASY, tasty bars - they're just dates and oats!
If you find it hard to get your kids to eat fruit, you should try these energy bars.
They're tasty, easy to make and healthy – well, the oats are 100% healthy since they're packed with fibre and protein. But the dates are high in natural sugars, so go easy. You don't want to ruin those tiny teeth!
For an occasional lunchbox treat, here's how to make 'em:
Ingredients:
- 600g pitted dates
- 400g oats
Method:
1. Line a tin with baking paper. Meanwhile, place the dates into a food processor and process until it's got that jam-like texture.
2. Add the oats one cup at a time, and then put the mixture into the tin, pressing it down.
3. Sprinkle the top of the mixture with some oats. Then freeze it for 1-2 hours.
4. Once that's done, cut it into fingers and roll in extra oats to make it even oatier! Store them in an airtight container until you want to eat!
