Wow! Mum with one ovary gives birth to 'miracle' baby girl
Jennifer Callaway was diagnosed with ovarian cancer seven years ago, when she was just 27.
The Chicago woman endured six rounds of chemotherapy and had to have one of her ovaries removed. Thankfully, she came out the other side.
However, due to the fact that she only had one ovary, the odds of ever conceiving were firmly stacked against her.
Determined not to let that stop her however, the 34-year-old decided to try for a baby with her husband, Brett.
And last Sunday, the now new mum welcomed a little girl into the world.
Born a whopping 10.5lb, baby Nora is quite rightly being described as a "miracle".
But that's not all.
Jennifer gave birth to her daughter via caesarean section, and during the procedure, medics noted that her remaining ovary and uterus are in top condition.
Praising her medical team, Jennifer told local news outlet, ABC7: “If it weren’t for them and their team’s efforts, I wouldn’t be here, let alone, able to have a baby.”
