'I got chills' Son shares his late dad's advice and everyone is bawling reading it
As parents, it is up to us to teach and guide our kids.
We show them how to be happy, independent individuals, and share whatever word of wisdom we can – things we learned growing up ourselves.
And that is exactly what Chris King's dad did, except he wrote each piece of advice down and gifted it to his son when he was a senior in high school.
Last week, Chris was reading through the book and one piece of advice stuck out, so he shared it with the members of the Cajun Army Facebook group before it was posted on the Love What Matters Facebook page.
Uploading two pictures of the advice his dad shared back in 1983, Chris wrote:
"Forgive me for posting something very personal, but these words written to me from my father back in 1983 made me cry like a baby today."
Explaining how his father passed away 23 years ago, Chris continued: "He was a wise man, and when I was in high school, he wrote several pieces of advice for me daily (for about a year) and gave it to me as a senior in high school.
"I often grab that book and flip to random pages to see what wisdom might be useful that day.
"Here is what I randomly flipped to today. It blew me away, and made me think of you all. Thank you for joining our crusade.
"Thank you Dad."
Members of the Facebook page were quick to thank Chris for sharing a snippet from the journal.
"Wow. What a great blessing to have his words of inspiration," wrote one. "Of all of his writings to come across, this one is so appropriate."
Another said: "I got chills reading this."
Such beautiful words.
