The McDonald’s Family Fun Day
This is our fave. We all need something to break up the week this midterm; something hassle-free and downright relaxing after planning a fun-filled Halloween! The McDonald’s Family Fun Day is on November 2, in stores nationwide from 12pm-6pm. As the theme is Out of this World, we know every little astronaut will enjoy the range of activities offered, from face-painting and balloon animals to colouring and puzzles! What a wonderful and cheerfully cheap way to spend quality time with your kids this midterm!
Samhain Tours & Tales at Croke Park
Do you have a child who is spookily interested in… well, spooks? Samhain Tours & Tales at Croke Park run until November 1 and give your family the opportunity to learn about Halloween from a fantastically Irish perspective! Follow harvest-themed clues around the grounds to find the harvest treasure, and hear a seanchaí (Irish storyteller) tell the tales of fairy folk and sport – perfect for your budding hurlers and footballers!
Family Halloween Festival at Slieve Aughty
Mid-terming west-side? Why not visit one of the few Halloween experiences that run throughout the midterm at the Family Halloween Festival at Slieve Aughty! From spooks like the Enchanted Forest and Bloody Mary’s haunted house, to nature trails and a playground for the little ‘uns; this event is perfect for all ages! Parents can relax knowing they’ve passed the midterm test of keeping the kids busy!
The National Museum of Ireland – Events
These are fab, because they cater to a range of interests from the museums of Archaeology or Natural History (in Dublin), to the museum of Country Life (in Mayo). Why not take what they’ve learned in the classroom to a practical level? It can be hard for parents when they realise they are not as involved in their child’s education as they once were. Have fun developing a love of learning in your little ones’ lives this midterm by visiting one of Ireland’s National museums! Click here to see what’s on!
Midterm can be hard work; but if you plan ahead and have something to look forward to, you’ll make it through the week! Good luck, mums!
