How a six-year-old made millions reviewing toys on YouTube
This child is making us rethink our whole lives.
At just 6-years-old Ryan, the star behind the YouTube channel Ryan's Toy Review made $11 million US Dollars this year.
What does he do? Opens toys and reviews them.
In the recent Forbes richest YouTubers list, Ryan ranks at number eight.
He's an adorable, articulate kid who you can tell loves the attention.
Speaking to Tubefilter, this parents, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the channel started due to Ryan watching other unboxing videos on YouTube:
"Ryan was watching a lot of toy review channels…because they used to make a lot of videos about Thomas The Tank Engine, and Ryan was super into Thomas. One day, he asked me, ‘How come I’m not on YouTube when all the other kids are?’ So we just decided — yeah, we can do that. Then, we took him to the store to get his very first toy — I think it was a lego train set — and it all started from there."
Despite his current following of over 10 million subscribers, his first videos started out small.
The channel struck viral gold, however, in 2016. It featured Ryan on an Easter Egg hunt opening each egg to a different Pixar Cars toy. To date, it has over one billion (yes, you heard me right) views.
"We post a new video every day," his mother continued. "And we typically film two to three videos at a time two to three times per week. We try not to interfere with Ryan’s pre-school schedule, so a majority of the filming takes place during the weekend, and then we’ll edit while he’s in school."
Whether it's his charming, straight forward attitude or sunshine like smile, we can see why Ryan has become so popular with both parents and children.
What do you think? Are your kids fans of Ryan's Toy Review?
