Here’s what Kourtney Kardashian packed in her hospital when having baby Rocky
Kourtney Kardashian-Barker recently welcomed a baby boy into the world and has decided to reveal what she packed in her hospital bag with fans.
While baby Rocky is Kourtney’s first child with her husband Travis, she also shares 13-year-old Mason, 11-year-old Penelope and eight-year-old Reign with her ex-partner Scott Disick, so she’s a pro at packing hospital bags at this stage.
If you’re expecting a little one and are unsure of what to pack, Kourtney has shared some advice on what necessities she included in her bag when preparing for Rocky’s arrival, which is super helpful for new mums.
Sharing the items she packed on her lifestyle website Poosh, the 44-year-old revealed she had three bags in total- “One for her, one for the baby, and one for extra miscellaneous items like blankets, pillows, and cameras”.
Firstly, Kourtney packed matching pyjamas for her and Travis from her sister Kim Kardashian’s brand SKIMS. She also made sure to include button-up shirts for easy breastfeeding access.
Kourt’s toiletry bag had “stretch mark cream, nipple and lip balm, belly oil, and nipple butter”.
She also packed two nursing bras, cosy socks, compression socks, runners, slippers and an outfit for Kourtney to wear when going home.
Explaining that she also brought disposable black underwear, she said, “The hospital provides white mesh ones but I like black. Anything to feel your best after birth is worth it – without sacrificing comfort”.
Kardashian-Barker admitted that she’s ‘never tried’ high-waisted postpartum underwear but packed them because she, “heard these are amazing after birth to help get your organs back into place”.
The hospital bag also included a peri bottle even though the mum-of-four revealed, “The hospital also provides one of these. I looked hard for one that wasn’t plastic but couldn’t find one, so this one looked best and seemed functional”.
The reality star’s bag also has collagen as it’s ‘good for recovery and hair’, as well as cold packs to help ‘healing after vaginal delivery’.
When it comes to what was in Rocky’s bag, there was a blanket, clean wipes, clean nappies, socks, rubber pacifiers and hats with matching swaddles.
Kourtney also revealed that her daughter Penelope picked out an outfit for her baby brother to wear home from the hospital which Kourt made sure to pack. “P picked this out and bought it for the baby as a surprise for me, the sweetest”.
There were also extra outfits, swaddle blankets and hats in the newborn’s bag. Kourtney admitted that she used a seam ripper to remove all the tags off the items before putting them on Rocky. “I’m a little crazy and cut each tag out of every outfit for baby’s comfort”.
An extra tip from Kourtney was to make sure your car seat is installed ahead of time before you go into labour.
The family’s miscellaneous bag included a digital video camera, vintage video camera, nursing pillow, silk pillowcase, a cosy blanket, a ‘cord blood kit’ and a ‘placenta encapsulation kit’.
Kourtney’s post explained, “Umbilical cord blood contains tons of stem cells, and those cells are a perfect match for the baby – collecting and storing the blood means it could be used to help treat certain health conditions if they arise”, while, “The placenta is full of nutrients, and ingesting it is thought to help with healing after giving birth. This type of kit helps turn your placenta into pills you can swallow”.
