Heartwarming! This couple married in the neonatal unit of a hospital to be close to their sick baby
James and Kylie Wiggins recently tied the knot, in quite an untraditional location!
The happy couple were married on August 20, in the neonatal care unit of a hospital, with their premature infant son by their side.
Kylie had given birth to baby Dolton, who was born weighing just 790 grams, three weeks previous to the wedding.
The newlyweds, who have been together for two years, were engaged and had originally planned to get married in 2019, and had been saving for their dream wedding!
Doctors sat down with Kylie and James, to discuss palliative care options for baby Dolton.
The couple did not want to celebrate their wedding without their newborn son, and made the decision to wed immediately.
The couple were only allowed to host a handful of guests in the neonatal unit, so they live-streamed the ceremony to their favourite restaurant, where the rest of their guests were.
The loved-up pair only had a month to pull together the wedding after getting a marriage licence, but it all went to plan.
Little Dolton is also doing great, and the family hope to bring him home in the next month!
