Groom jumps into nearby pond during his wedding photos as wife looks on in shock

Your wedding day is one of the best days of your life; it's the day you finally get to marry your best friend.

But it's also a big occasion with many do's and don'ts – and jumping into a nearby pond would most likely be on the 'do not' list.

Groom, Clayton Cook, was having his 'just married' photographs taken with his wife at Kitchener’s Victoria Park in Canada, when the unimaginable occurred.

His bride, Brittany Ross Cook, was having her portrait shots taken, and as she turned around she spotted her husband making a dash for the pond.

Photographer, Dan Hatt, was on hand to snap as he realised what was unfolding: Clayton was saving a little boy from drowning.

A young boy had been playing by the pond when his friend pushed him into the water, and he struggled to get out.

Dan posted on his photography page: "While I was taking solo pictures of the bride this little guy was pushed into the river behind me by another child."

"By the time the bride noticed and shouted out, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety. His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim."

Speaking to CTV News, Clayton exclaimed: "His face was underwater and he was fighting, like he was really fighting, luckily, he was only a little guy… and I honestly just sort of hopped him up."

Londoner, Dan, managed to snap some images as the event unfolded, and the groom was given a well-deserved hero's welcome by guests at the reception.

We're sure these wedding snaps will hold a very special place in the couple's hearts for quite some time to come.
