'Great work': Woman sees a dead kangaroo move, so she pulls a u-turn and rescues him

Who doesn't love baby kangaroos?

This video went viral on social media of a baby kangaroo being rescued from its deceased mother's pouch on the side of a road.

Lauren Wagner and her friend Sarah Wragge were coming home when they realised that there was a dead kangaroo on the side of the road that had obviously been hit by a car.

The women, who were in Adelaide, Australia, drove nearer to the animal to get a better look at what was going on.

Lauren told The Advertiser, "I swear I saw it move, so we chucked a U-turn and drove past it slowly and it was definitely moving.''

"It was quite obviously kicking in the tummy and I got out and had a look and saw two little feet sticking out of its pouch."

32-year-old Lauren then said how it was tricky to pull the joey out as "it was pretty tightly packed in there."

After wrapping him in a blanket, the pair took him to fauna rescue expert Sibylle Kaufmann in Happy Valley.

Lauren uploaded the video to Facebook, where it's gotten 2.5k likes, over 600 comments and 7.4k shares.

People were commenting saying, ''I hope he got help quickly. Those girls are wonderful. Great work'' and ''I’m so glad to see that these ladies stopped & checked, this baby kangaroo now has chance to live a good life. Thank you.''

Sibylle later said that the joey, who is a healthy, seven-month-old male, is "actually doing pretty good."

Once he no longer needs constant care, he can roam the fauna rescue property with the other kangaroos.

Well done to those wonderful women who saved him!
