'Go a little slower': This honest letter about motherhood is so emotional
One mum has penned the most moving note about her newborn son. Welcoming a baby into your life is one of the most wonderful experiences, but we have to admit that it can be rather overwhelming.
Laura Mazza, who is the mum behind the blog Mum on the Run, shared quite the emotional post with her followers.
The mum wrote about how much she will love her son, no matter what. The message she shared has reminded us of how important those little moments are, like early morning hugs and seeing your baby laugh at the silliest thing.
The letter she wrote to her baby boy about how she’d always be there to hold him has moved us to tears.
“I’m going to hold you even though my body aches and my eyelids are heavy. I will hold you, even though they say, I’ll put a rod in my back, I’ll create bad habits, I’ll spoil you.”
The mum continued: “I’m going to hold you. I’m going to watch you breathe, watch your face go into a smile as you make the little noises as you sleep, watch your eyes flicker as you dream, smell your smell.”
“I will hold you even though the dishes are in the sink and the clothes need folding. Even though there is so much I should be doing,” she shared.
“I will breathe you in, enjoy every moment, go a little slower, take every moment to watch you grow,” Laura wrote, which is something every mum should do. Life moves by way too quickly, so we need to take time to appreciate every moment.
The final sentence of her open letter will resonate with every mum: “I will hold you until the day comes when you don’t need or want me to hold you anymore.”
