Eeek! So, Gino's Gelato are giving away FREE crêpes tomorrow
Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday was a day to get rid of all the delicious things from our cupboards before we settled in to the long and virtuous 40 days and 40 nights of Lent.
These days, it’s a great excuse to celebrate one of the yummiest foods known to man – pancakes!
So, what’s the difference between pancakes and crêpes?
The main difference is that pancake batter has a raising agent in it, such as baking powder or baking soda, and crêpes batter doesn’t.
This means that pancakes are thicker and fluffy while crêpes are thin and flat.
Generally, pancakes are associated with being ‘American-style’ while crêpes are the European take on the breakfast favourite.
Whether you’re a traditionalist or a risk taker, Gino’s Gelato have a crêpe for you – and if you're quick, you'll get it for free.
To celebrate Pancake Tuesday, Gino’s are offering FREE crêpes to the first 20 customers in ALL Gino’s outlets on the day.
With 13 locations nationwide including Galway, Waterford, Bray, Arklow and Newbridge as well as eight stores across Dublin, you'll have no excuse not to call in first thing in the morning!
