'G@#%!?#%'... This poor forgotten poster board sums up motherhood exactly
Being a mother is hard work. And usually it's the kids that make the job even harder.
Just when you think you have everything nailed down and working well, one of your darlings will hit you with the unexpected… like telling you they need art materials for class the following day.
At nine o'clock at night.
And while we may grump and moan about having to tear ourselves away from the telly and go out in the freezing cold, we do it because we love them.
Involving her daughter and some poster board, this was exactly the situation that Rachel Pavlik found herself in recently.
At exactly nine o'clock one evening, Rachel's daughter decided it was a good time to tell her that she needed poster board for the following day.
Recalling the story on her Facebook page, RachRiot, she wrote: "Mom, I need a poster board.
"What?
"I need a poster board! For tomorrow!
"Well it's 9pm! When in the hell were you planning on telling me?!
"I DON'T KNOW!
"Great.
"Yeah! I need it now! For tomorrow! I have to have it! *sob
"Well go look in the playroom for some..
"We don't have anyyy!
"*sniffle
"I need a white posterboooaaard!"
After a fair amount of too'ing and fro'ing, Rachel went to the store to save her child from getting in trouble.
She went into TWO shops in her quest for the poster board and returned home to cries of "I love you, Mum".
Delighted that the crisis was averted, Rachel sent the kids off to school the next day, reminding her daughter not to forget the poster board.
"*MORNING
"Don't forget your white poster board.
"Here's your poster board.
"Roll it up with this rubber band-
"Be careful with the poster board.
"Time for the bus
"Bye bye love you best day ever
"Kiss kiss
"*Kids walk around the corner to the bus stop.
"I'm so glad she got her poster board. Whew. Crisis averted.
"I'm winning at this mom thing
"Yay me. Hero. I'm the best."
However, as she quite rightly praised herself for a job well done, Rachel turned the corer to where the bus collects the kids only to be greeted by, yes, you guessed it, the POSTER BOARD!
"I'm going to go on a walk today
"Beautiful day feeling good. Stretch. I'm walking.
"Turn the corner where the bus stop is..
"Bus came. Kids are gone
"Everyone gone
"Except this
"This. HER G@#%!?#% POSTER BOARD."
We have no doubt many of you have found yourself in a similar situation.
And the only thing you can do is breathe. Buy wine and breathe.
