1. Trim Hay Making Festival, Co. Meath

Adults €10; kids go free
Achieved through music, song and dance as well as displaying traditional work methods and pastimes, it is a magical day that caters for all ages.

2. Baltimore Pirate Weekend, Co. Cork

The festival includes attractions for all ages (some serious, some less so) based on the theme of the sacking and the story of pirates and piracy around these shores.

3. Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival, Co. Cork

The Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival is an international festival based in the picturesque village of Ballydehob, West Cork, featuring maritime and other folk music.

4. Dublin Kite Festival, Co. Dublin

11am – 5pm
Whether attendees were brilliant kite fliers, or failing kite triers everyone got off the ground in the end as there were plenty of kiting experts ready to lend a hand. The day also boasted lively music, exciting games, kite making workshops and a kite flying competition!

6. Galway Rowing Regatta, Co. Galway

This year’s Galway Regatta will take place at the NUIG grounds at Dangan. Galway’s oldest rowing regatta, this year it celebrates its 133rd anniversary, and once again entries from all four provinces with many of the top rowing clubs in Ireland are expected to compete.
