Firefighters respond to an emergency, but are surprised when they're left 'sitting'
The Roseville Fire Department sprung to action when they were recently called out to a medical emergency.
The Californian chiefs were requested to a family home where a young child was in medical difficulty.
However, when they arrived at the home with an ambulance in tow, they realised Dad was alone in the house with his two children.
But as only the sick child and Dad could ride in the ambulance, the family were in a small bind as their second child couldn't stay home alone.
Naturally, Mum was trying to get home, but in the midst of an emergency the fire department pulled through, going above and beyond for the family in their time of need.
The Engine 5 crew stayed behind in the house, babysitting the young toddler.
In pictures uploaded to Roseville's Facebook, Engineer Burns, can be seen reading to the little girl while they await her mum's arrival.
And can we just take a moment to appreciate how good he is with her, in what can only be described as a scary and uncertain time for the tot?
The move, which undoubtedly helped the family, can only be described as an amazing act of compassion and we're grateful to know that these guys are out there helping communities.
