Firefighters celebrate the successful adoption of their 'safe surrender' baby

Firefighters in Orange County, California, are still celebrating the moment they first met baby Naomi.

Naomi was a ‘safe surrender’ baby, and the boys are so proud of the little tot.

A safe surrender site is where a baby can be dropped off in a secure place, for example, a fire station or hospital, anonymously.

The fire crew who were on duty at the time were surprised to have a young woman call to them to entrust little Naomi into their care.

But the little tot has stolen their hearts, having attended her official adoption ceremony; the boys were naturally delighted to have her come visit at the station with her new family.

Michael DeLeon was on duty the night Naomi arrived and he told CBS LA: “It was one of the highlights of my career by far.”

The tot has been adopted into the Snyder family, and now has a brother Judah too.
