Elsie the Elf cancels Christmas and gives the kids one week to get it back, but not everyone is impressed
As many times as we've threatened our kids with the whole "Santa doesn't come to naughty children" bit, we've never actually gone through with it.
Is is okay to cancel Christmas due to bad behaviour? This Australian family did, and it's causing a meltdown on Facebook.
Elise, the Elf on the Shelf, has been watching the children's behaviour and is not impressed. The letter, perched on a wrapped up Christmas tree, reads:
"CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED NOW! If you want me to keep visiting, a Santa visit and your tree and presents back your behaviour needs to improve. Santa is very angry and I'm very disappointed. BE GOOD and say sorry to mum. You have 1 week to improve. I'm watching."
The letter has been getting some VERY mixed reactions.
Some parents are applauding the move:
This mother even followed through with her threats to cancel Christmas:
Others are criticising the harsh punishment, saying that elf took it a step too far:
Several make points that the parents need to be clearer in their communication with the children. Telling them exactly what the need to improve on and why instead of resorting to dramatic means.
What do you think about Elise the Elf pulling the plug on Christmas?
Great idea or over the top?
