'Don't compare yourself to others': 18 ways to be a happier mum
Most of us mums are guilty of pushing ourselves to the end of our 'to-do' list.
In a bid to make sure our kids are happy and healthy, we forget about ourselves.
But what about us? What about our happiness?
If a mum isn't happy then how can the rest of her family be happy?
How can she create a positive, fun atmosphere if you're feeling overwhelmed and stressed?
Today is International Day of Happiness, and we've got 18 ways that you can feel happier:
1. Spend time with your friends
2. Write everything down – make lists and start ticking things off
3. Admit when you're feeling overwhelmed – don't suffer in silence
4. Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep – grab a nap if you can!
5. Enjoy the moment
6. Be thankful for what you have
7. Make sure you find the time to exercise – whether it's a run in the local park or a ten-minute workout at home
8. Figure out what your priorities are
9. Say no sometimes
10. Don't compare yourself or your situation to others
11. Cut down on your social media consumption
12. Don't go on your device just before
13. Take time out of your day to just breathe
14. Get creative – whether it's through writing, singing, dancing or art you'll significantly reduce stress and anxiety.
15. Get out into the fresh air
16. Choose to be happy – tell yourself that you are
17. Just be yourself
18. Think positively – no matter how bad or negative a situation you may find yourself in, try to find the good in it.
