Donnie the dog is stealing hearts as Keeling's pub mascot
A pub in North Dublin has found a new, furry mascot, and we are smitten!
This adorable pup’s name is Donnie and if you want to pet him, just make your way to Keeling's Pub in North Dublin.
How did the owner find this fuzzy heartthrob?
The dog was wandering around the area when he was struck by a passing car. He was uninjured, and no chip or I.D. tags were found on him.
After learning that the local Paddy Power employees were minding the dog, pub manager Stephen Kelly wanted to provide the pup a home.
He asked one of his employees, a parent and dog owner, about the dog’s temperament and was told the puppy would be perfect as a pub pet. After a trip to the vet, Stephen was told the dog was in excellent health as well.
Stephen said: ““He was fine so I took him home the next day to my five kids. They were delighted and named him Donnie because he was found in Donabate.”
Donnie went viral on Facebook, and a Pet Stop in Airside gave him a free grooming session.
The pub manager takes the dog to the pub with him most days and the customers love him. “Every pub needs a good mascot,” he commented.
If you need some barks and brews, head down to Keeling’s to have a pint with the adorable Donnie. It is a great way to cheer up after a long day at work.
