Contrary to popular belief, you CAN'T hold your baby too much
Have you ever been told that you are holding your baby too much? That you are simply spoiling them, and they'll just grow up to be clingy adults?
Well, you can now stick it to whoever said that to you… because, contrary to belief, you CAN'T hold your baby too much.
Nope, not even a little bit (not that we ever listened to that "advice" anyway).
And for anyone still disagreeing, this is according to science.
A study published in Current Biology, found that touch is CRITICAL to a baby's development, especially if they are born premature.
Researchers studied 125 babies (both full-term and premature) at the Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio.
Blowing a real puff of air and then a fake puff, experts found that gentle touch for all newborns (especially premature babies) may help to develop their cognition, communication and behaviour later on.
So the next time someone tells you to put Baby down, you know what to tell 'em.
