Community pulls together when one family loses everything
When a forest Wall Fire engulfed Oroville, California this year, the Orsillo family lost everything they owned.
Their home was gone, the life they had made, their possessions, everything bar two trash bags their son Mark got to take with them was savaged.
Mark suffers with Down Syndrome, and the loss of his home was a massive shock to him.
But the lovable man that he is, he smiled through the loss, even though it included his giant DVD collection.
A massive lover of movies, Mark was devastated to lose his prize possessions, but he kept going because things could have been worse.
Nonetheless, his sister Danielle took to Facebook, asking for help restoring his much loved movie collection.
Danielle shared: "He is an OCD movie collector and lost hundreds of movies. He spends most of his free time watching, organising and talking about his movies. This is very hard for him."
And in an amazing turn of events, within six hours her post had reached hundreds of people, who donated almost 500 DVD's between them.
"WOW! YOU HAVE DONATED SO MANY MOVIES! THANK YOU SO MUCH! […] Thank you so so so so much for the outpouring of love. My family can't put into words how grateful we are," exclaimed the big sister.
Such a wonderful act of kindness, we're so happy to see there are so many good people in this world.
