Child tells assistant what her mum does when she's in school and we're dying
When Emma Lou Harris' daughter, Frankie, began to feel guilty that she leaves her little brother behind when she goes to school, Mum naturally had to think up of a wonderful story to tell her daughter.
Being compassionate and kind, Emma Lou explained to her little girl that sometimes people need a little time to themselves.
"I spent some time explaining that even though its always nice to play together, sometimes its just not feasible and that everyone needs time alone too."
"I told her that daddy is my friend but when he's in work, I have nobody to play with, but you just have to get on with it and that it is OK to be on your own sometimes."
The youngster accepted her mum's reasoning, getting on with life as we do and heading back to school.
However, as you all know, when you have kids, a conversation doesn't just end, it gets elaborated or mixed up.
"Three days later, I collected Frankie from creche and we strolled down for our post playschool trip to the shop."
And that was when Emma Lou was reminded of the best moments of parenting.
"Man at the till: 'Oh hello, were you at school today pet?' Frankie: 'Yep. My daddy brought me to school and then went to work'."
"My mammy stayed at home all day and played with herself."
Now we can only imagine the reddened face and how you want nothing more than the ground to swallow you up at this stage.
Emma Lou explains: "I cross my fingers behind my back, I can actually feel my genitals lingering around somewhere between my heart and my mouth and I pray that this is the end of it."
The shop assistant, who gave an awkward glance, was left standing as Frankie continues to blurt:
"Yeah, mammy said when daddy is gone to work she just has to get on with it and play with herself, but that's OK, because sometimes you…"
And that was the moment the mum-of-two grabbed her daughter and ran out of the shop with a hefty load of embarrassment!
"I'm expecting social services to call any day now, AND I think I need to find somewhere new to shop," added Emma Lou.
We have no idea how she remained standing, we would have passed out! How do our kids seem to leave us in these positions? Has this ever happened you?
