Build beautiful memories with these awesome scrapbooking ideas
It was a moment of inspiration that came to me while cramming more photographs into our photograph drawer (yes, we have one of these now).
Our walls are full of lovely pictures of our life before children and our life once all three little ones exploded into them too. Our walls are literally crammed with frames and I love it. But as I put the pictures away, I suddenly realised it would be a lovely idea to start scrapbooks with the children.
They were over the moon when I arrived home the next day with three massive empty scrapbooks. We got to work straight away – cutting and pasting baby pictures, exclaiming over funny outfits, funny faces, funny poses. It was brilliant!
We wrote a page about the things we love, we decorated all the sides of each page with colourful doodles and included a lot of their artwork, as well as pages from their school copies (to illustrate their genius of course).
Here are some ideas we came across while doing our research for producing the loveliest, messiest and most colourful ‘book of life’ for your little ones:
1. We adore this postage-inspired page of a scrapbook. It’s really easy to print out templates on your printer or even print your own photographs to go with it.

2. Paper plate inspiration like this pretty page will add colour and shape to your scrapbook. It is also a nice way to include quotes and writing.

3. Create one book for the entire family like this pretty one which also uses material and stitching.

4. Create a memory of all their holidays (the older children, in particular, will LOVE this).

5. Fill up these mini-envelopes with their hopes, dreams and wishes. This is so special and you know you will cry opening them in a few years time!

I helped my two-year-old with hers, but the others had a fine old time doing their handprints in bright red paint and remembering their Santa lists from last year.
Now we bring them out on rainy days and work on them. We are about half full and we plan to do a second series once we finish these ones. The children are so proud of what they have produced and on the plus side, it keeps them occupied for AGES.
I’ve written little notes throughout and printed out little reminders of funny words they mispronounce and inspirational quotes I’ve come across. It is a lovely memory book to have on our shelves and one I think we will all treasure for a long time.
