Breastfeeding mum is asked to 'cover-up' at the museum, and her response is AMAZING
A mum who has identified herself as 'Vaguechera' online has had the BEST response to a woman who asked her to cover-up at the museum.
Roaming the museum with her toddler son, she naturally began to breastfeed when he became hungry.
However, Mum was interrupted by a member of staff at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, who 'kindly' asked if she minded covering up a bit.
Left completely perplexed given her surroundings, Mum went on to identify a number of things wrong with what happened, and it is too real.
Flashed a nanosecond of nipple while #breastfeeding and was asked to cover up in @V_and_A courtyard. Am perplexed…. pic.twitter.com/T6VIRQbgrC

Tweeting images of various statues and paintings surrounding her within the museum, many of them displayed naked women.
Mum shared: "Flashed a nanosecond of nipple while breastfeeding and was asked to cover up in Victoria and Albert courtyard. Am perplexed…."
The confused mum also posed alongside a statue of a breastfeeding mother with her tot, and later posted a snap of a family being 'turned off their food' eating underneath two statues of naked women.
'I will throw you out of this museum with your naked breasts!' 'But I'm made of marble!' 'Oh sorry you're fine then' @V_and_A pic.twitter.com/HL0py3vJ7I

"On the upside, I had a lovely day at V and A exploring depictions of breasts through the ages and making lovely mammaries. I mean memories."
While the tweets have caught the attention of many, it was the response of the museum's director, Tristram Hunt, that has restored faith in humans that common sense can prevail.
.@vaguechera V sorry. Our policy is clear: women may breastfeed wherever they like, wherever they feel comfortable & shld not be disturbed.

While Mum admits this is the first time she has been 'shamed' in three and a half years of breastfeeding, she still believes these situations need to be highlighted for a very good reason:

"Reason it's important: embarrassment about breastfeeding is one of most common reasons that women give up."
So glad this mum took the time to speak out; she's right there's no need for the embarrassment.

However – we do believe she deserves some recognition for graciously engaging humour throughout the situation too.
