Boy with Down syndrome sings Whitney Houston's 1992 hit song, and it's jaw-dropping

Wow. Just wow.

Nine-year-old Dane Miller watched a documentary on Whitney Houston a few weeks ago, and has been hooked on her hit song, I Have Nothing, ever since.

"About a month ago we watched a documentary on Whitney Houston and my oldest son Dawson started downloading some of her music," mum Danna told MagicMum.

"The song 'I Have Nothing' seemed to stick and we listened to it over and over for about a month and Dane just picked it up and put his little spin on it with his passion. My husband Darren recorded him without Dane knowing and wasn't going to post it. "

The video was originally posted on his mum Danna's Facebook page, where so far it has had over five million views in less than a week.

"We thought it was precious and cute but we didn't know what other people would think," the mum explained.

"Well Darren's sister Jeanne said it was too precious and cute not to share so she posted the video and the rest is history."

"Dane is a very happy child and puts passion into everything he does. He loves playing basketball, soccer, and football. We are a musical family so I guess he gets that from us. Dane pretty much sings to the radio most of the time when we are in the car."

In the clip, which was also shared on YouTube, Dane, who has Down syndrome, can be seen belting out the powerful song, passionately hitting all the notes.

Feeling the words, the little boy really gets into it, using his hands to convey the intensity of the song.

Not fazed by the camera pointing at him, he keeps going right up until the very last note.

Talking about the reaction to the video, Danna said: "This has been an overwhelming experience but a joyful one.

"We have enjoyed reading the sweet comments from people all over the world.

"We have received pictures and messages from families with Down syndrome children who have been encouraged and the video has brought them much joy.

"That is our hope that anyone who watches the video they will forget about their troubles and experience the joy we get to see everyday with Dane."

This is the kind of video that will really make you smile – we are so glad the Miller family decided to share it.
