Young boy saves pocket money all year for THIS amazing reason
One little boy gave the families of sick children a surprise – when he jumped up from behind the cash register in a hospital cafeteria and paid for their meals.
For the third year in a row, Jerry Hatcher Jr. dressed up in his best suit and had his mum drive him to a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospital.
“At his request and for the third year in a row, his parents drove him to one of our hospitals,” wrote the hospital group’s Facebook page. “With a wad of cash – money he’d been earning and saving all year long – tucked in his pocket, he headed toward the cafeteria. This boy, in his finest black suit, was on a mission.”
Jerry then proceeded to hide under the till, and every time a patient’s family member opened their wallet, he leapt out, gave them cash and wished them Merry Christmas.
“After almost losing his little brother to illness, Jerry Jr. knows what it's like for families to live in our hospitals,” continued the Facebook post.
“Many hugs and happy tears ensued. There’s no doubt the spirit of the season found us today.”
And for Jerry, it’s simple, he just wants to spread joy.
“One thing I'm trying to do is make sure everyone stays happy – it's Christmas!” the big-hearted boy says.
It really is true what they say: not all heroes wear capes.
