Boy, 7, gives police officers his most prized possession after they lost a friend in the line of duty

When seven-year-old Brady Duke heard that Everest Metropolitian Police Department in Wisconsin had lost one of their officers in the line of duty, he decided to do something truly special for them.

The little boy loves nothing more than playing with his Nintendo Wii, and feeling that he needed to do something following the loss of Detective Jason Weiland, he donated his most prized possession to the Wausau Police Department, which is about 12 miles from the department's headquarters.

In a letter sent to the station, Brady thanked them for everything they do, and said he hoped his Wii would make them "feel better".

"Thank you for serving our community," he wrote.

"You keep my family and I safe. I am so sorry that one of your police brothers died.

"How can I help?"

And his gift is doing just that.

“The video games are helping the officers,” Wausau Police Deputy Chief Ben Bliven told WSAW.

“We’re encouraging our officers to come in, take a break and de-stress."
