Family Life

Birth mum's letter to her daughter's family is heartbreaking but beautiful... we're in tears

Adoption is filled with highs and lows.

A baby who is put up for adoption is about to fill a new family with nothing but pure love and joy.

But the birth mum will have a heavy heart; love for her newborn, joy they will be encompassed with love by their new family, and a sadness from saying goodbye.

Erin Miller is a mum-of-two who adopted her second baby, a girl, from another mum-of-two, Amber.

The emotional story was captured on camera, made into a short-story about the love which bonded two families through adoption.

The Gift, is a precious piece which documents Amber's decision to hand Lilly into the care of the Miller's for the rest of her life.

The moment Amber informed Erin and her husband of the decision was one which will bring nothing but tears to your eyes.

Handing the couple a pink basket, Amber gives Erin a letter – one mum to another: "Her precious tiny little hands will bond our families together."

"After many tears and prayers, you both walked into my life, I knew you guys were the right family, the day I saw your blog online."

"When we met I knew in my heart it was right, I know you both will love my little girl as much as I do, and I hope our relationship will continue to grow. Thank you both so much for your love and kindness, as I know I have picked the right parents for my baby girl."

The letter epitomises the happiness, laughter, love and the sadness which accompanies such a decision, and the beautiful bonding of two families which will last a lifetime.

We think this is the most beautiful letter we have ever heard – have you ever encountered something so strong like this?
