'Because I'm not embarrassed of the scars' - Mum's post is exactly what we need to remember
First-time mum, Eliza Curby gave birth to her daughter Charlie in 2015, and just a short six weeks later, she found out she was about to become a mum-of-three.
Eliza was expecting twins; since then her daughter Charlie has gained identical twin brothers, Jack and Wolfe.
Having three children within the space of a year can be hard on a woman's body though, and Eliza is not holding back.
Taking to Twingenuity, the mum-of-three posted a photo of the toll pregnancy can take, revealing a message us mums often forget to recall.
"I'm not embarrassed of the scars my body now carries. Because I'm proud of what my body has done for me. Because many women feel the need to hide it."
"Because famous women post 'look at my body just three weeks postpartum' and portray unrealistic images of what it means to be a mother."
"Because I feel beautiful in my own skin – even if there's alotttt of it! Because beauty takes many forms."
The image shared by the mum portrays her scars and stretched skin around her tummy, but remembering what her body carried, she knows she is still beautiful.
Afterall, she did carry the miracle of life; therefore, Eliza knows she CAN feel beautiful no matter how her skin looks.
"You should also be proud. This is me… because I love my body."
We believe all mums should be proud of their bodies, it is no easy feat to bring life into this world – it's not something to be embarrassed about, ever.
