Baby weight to baby weights: 'six-pack' mum returns with viral exercise routine
Former lingerie model, Sarah Stage, first made headlines in 2015 by rocking a six pack throughout her first pregnancy.
The mum-of-two went viral after revealing that not only had she kept fit during her first pregnancy, but that she kept her six pack the whole time.
We know, we're in awe too.
After welcoming her second son in October, she's back on Instagram, and getting mixed reactions with her latest exercise video.
Stage can be seen working out with the help of her two boys, aged two and two months. Using the boys as weights, she does squats, lunges and leg lifts.
We're exhausted just looking at her.
In her post, Stage encourages fellow mums to focus on themselves and their fitness:
"No excuses! This morning was my first time working out in nine weeks and although I have a long way to go to build my muscle strength and endurance back up again… luckily there's an inner strength that's been building since I've had time to reflect."
Stage said that she was happier "reducing my own expectations of what needs to be done in a day" and realising that "I can’t get these special moments back and all the little things don’t matter."
Self care, she acknowledges, is vital for mums:
"I know some mothers feel guilty about doing things for themselves and I've even gotten mum-shamed for taking time out for myself.
But if we are happy, then that makes us better wives, friends, daughters etc."
Despite a somewhat mixed reaction to the post, fellow mums have been praising Stage's determination:
"Your videos are an inspiration. I have 10 weeks till my second baby boy is due. I love how even with your son running around, you are able to stay focused and complete this workout for you."
"Gotta love tenacity. You go girl!"
"Awesome mom! Such a role model"
However, some commenters noted the dangers of working out with children, saying that Stage was irresponsible to be pushing herself so hard after having a c-section.
It was noted that she waited the recommended amount of six weeks before returning to her exercise regime.
What do you think? A bit of fitness inspiration for the New Year?
