He argued his case in a three-minute presentation to the board for the town of Severance.

He said, "The children of Severance want the opportunity to have a snowball fight like the rest of the world.''
He said that having snowball fights gives kids a good reason to be outside and play.
The town had classified snowballs as missiles and made throwing them illegal.
So did he win?
Yes, the board was unanimous in it's decide to lift the ban, amending the ordinance to exclude, ''any spherical object formed from snow created by scooping snow with the hands, and compacting it into a roughly fist-sized ball."
Dane and his brother Dax, the Mayor Don McLeod let them be the first people to throw a legal snowball in the town's history.
Dane said, "I think it’s an outdated law. I want to be able to throw a snowball without getting in trouble."
Social media was so happy for the town and in awe of the little boy's proactivity.
One person wrote, ''Nice work, Dane!!! Everyone should have the right to throw snowballs!!''
While another said, ''Good job Dane! Now these children will have memories to cherish for the rest of their lives!''
A third added, ''Nicely done. Be proud. Hope you get lots of snow this winter!''
Let's hope it's a white Christmas in Colorado this year.
