An infected C-section scar gives Mum a very unique idea
Well this is something we never would have thought to use on our C-section scars, but if it helps, it helps!
Mel Watts, The Modern Mumma, has developed an infection following her C-section for the birth of her fourth child.
The mum-of-four has a background in nursing, but it still didn't stop her from contracting an infection:
"Sometimes it doesn't matter how clean you keep it or how many you've had, there is always that chance you'll become one of the statistics."
Following two trips to the doctor's office, Mel was eventually put on antibiotics, but anyone who has ever had infected stitches will tell you about that burning sensation which accompanies it.
And the mum has shown us her genius hack for cooling down – a hairdryer.
Mel was using the hairdryer to cool down the infected area, using the hashtag 'easy way out'.
Many followers were quick to note that a hairdryer on the infection is in fact quite dangerous for the infected area, but when people realised the setting was on 'cool' and NOT heat they understood the use.
At just five weeks postpartum we can't begin to imagine the pain Mum is going through, not to mention other users who sympathetically posted snaps of their infected wounds.
Just another one of the many battles mums have to face after giving birth – but that's why mums are magic.
