AMAZING! Conjoined twins who were attached at the heart are heading home
Savannah and Scarlett were born conjoined at the heart, and were given almost a zero chance of survival.
Well, these two fighters have defied all of the odds, and are heading home to live a normal life.
Surgeons in Gainesville, Florida, performed the separation surgery a few months back, having spent two months practising on a 3D print-out of a conjoined heart.
Savannah and Scarlett were born with two tiny hearts that were attached, beating almost as one large organ, and were separated a number of weeks ago.
Two months after the dangerous operation, the twins are almost ready to head home with their parents and siblings.
The twin's mum, Jacquelyn, has documented their journey on her on her blog.
"They are such strong fighters" Jacquelyn wrote when discussing the aftermath of the complicated surgery.
"To see them thrive in the ICU then come off the ventilator and now getting ready to be discharged, it's really exciting" said one of their doctors.
We wish the twins and their family all the best in the future!
