'A selfless gesture': Cops come to boy's rescue in local park
Two anonymous police officers, who are being dubbed ''Sergeant Modest and Officer Bashful'' are being celebrated for stepping in to save the feet of a young boy and throwing a popsicle in to seal the deal.
According to a Facebook post uploaded by the Tukwila Police Department in Washington, two police officers were patrolling a local park when they spotted a kid with a badly bloodied foot clad in torn-up, dirty socks.
The young boy explained to the cops that his shoes were too small for him to wear and that's when they snapped into action.
The Facebook post explained what had happened Cascade Park and was soon met with a huge response – almost 3k likes, 1k shares and over 200 comments.
The post explains that one of the officers stayed with the boy and another went to the store and bought him a new pair of shoes.
Plus, of course, several ice pops for the three of them to enjoy!
''Because what isn’t better than a cold popsicle on a hot summer day?! The officer helped to tie his new friend’s shoes and they all enjoyed a popsicle together before parting ways,'' the post said.
Social media was full of praise for the two anonymous policemen, with one saying, ''wonderful story. Things that happen daily but aren't noticed'' followed by the handclapping emoji.
Another wrote, ''what a beautiful and selfless gesture! Thank you all for your service!'' while one man could not contain his emotions, saying, ''I hate it when you make a grown man get misty eyed…''
