Marshmallow swizzle sticks

Ingredients:marshmallow swizzle sticks

  • 100g plain chocolate, broken up
  • 100g milk chocolate, broken up
  • 36 marshmallows, round or twisty
  • Hundreds and thousands
  • 12 wooden skewers or lollipop sticks

Method:

  1. Before you start I think it’s a good idea to set up a little assembly station. Leave a space for the bowl of melted chocolate and also set out dishes with your chosen hundreds and thousands. Finally have a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to lay the swizzle sticks on to set.
  2. Place both types of chocolate into a heatproof bowl set over a pot of gently simmering water. Do not allow the bottom of the bowl to come in contract occasionally until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat.
  3. While the chocolate is melting place three marshmallows onto each skewer.
  4. Once the chocolate is ready, one by one dip the tip of the top marshmallow on each swizzle stick into the melted chocolate. The, holding the skewer over the bowl, spoon melted chocolate over the rest of the marshmallows until they are evenly coated on all sides. Whilst holding it over the bowl of melted chocolate, gently tap the skewer and slowly twirl it between your fingers to ensure an even coating and to remove any excess chocolate.
  5. Next hold the swizzle stick over the dish of hundreds and thousands and sprinkle them on to the chocolate. Any that don’t stick will simply fall back into the dish. Lay the swizzle stick on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all swizzle sticks have been coated with chocolate and hundreds and thousands. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.
