7 family friendly pumpkin patches to visit in Ireland this Halloween

If you have never taken a trip to a pumpkin patch with your littles, you need to jump on the bandwagon very, very, quickly. 

Ireland plays host to some of the cutest pumpkin patches around which make for a family fun day out filled with adventure. 

Trust us, there is absolutely zero chance of your kids not loving their day on the pumpkin farm, and you will love it too. 

Here's a list of some of our favourites around Ireland for the Halloween season…

1. Scalpwood

Located in Kilternan, Co. Dublin, a family can pick their own pumpkin to bring home, having it carved at the barn with a full BBQ and lots of fun activities to be had on the farm too, for more information check out their website here. 

2. Kennedy's

Kennedy's pumpkin patch in Julianstown, Co. Meath is in a beautiful location with nothing but fun to be had for all the family. Between their spooky tunnel, hay-maze, face-painting and storytelling you will have endless smiles and very tired kiddos at the end of the day. Find more info here. 

3. The Farm Grenagh

Located in Ballymorisheen, Co. Cork, the farm is the first 'tractor ted' farm in Ireland, and visitors will be allowed to enjoy trailer rides before picking out their favourite pumpkins. Furthermore the kids will get to help the good witch, Esmeralda, practice her spells and make sweet treats before home time. 4. Ballycross Apple Farm

Yes, we know this one may sound confusing, but they have one of the cutest pumpkin patches going. The farm in Bridgetown, Co. Wexford has lots of activities for the kids during the Halloween season, with tractor rides to the patch just a highlight. Between seeing the horses and smelling the fresh waffles and crepes you won't want to leave, more information available here. 

5. Keane's Garden Centre

Head to Keanes Garden Centre Kilcolgan, Galway on Saturday 26th October, between 12pm – 7pm, for a pumpkin picking festival! Get the full experience with all the family, with a witches kitchen on display for the brave, which plays host to some tasty treats, including candy apples for all kids. Check out their Facebook for more information. 

6. Curraghchase Pumpkin Patch

Hitting up this fab pumpkin patch in Kilcornan, Co. Limerick will be filled with excitement. Hosted by the Curraghchase Garden Centre, the farm promises a great day out as you walk through the pumpkin patch sprinkling fairy dust, picking your perfect pumpkin to carve and taking pictures while dancing around the Halloween globe. 7. Ashtree Garden Centre

This garden centre in Donegal Town will provide the kids with hours of entertainment with thanks to their pumpkin golf and carving extravaganza.
