6 top tips for putting sun cream on your kids (without getting it on your white trousers)
Adults know how important sun cream is and usually remember to apply it regularly; getting kids on board with the idea however, can be a bit more tricky.
So here are a few tips for putting sun cream on your kids without them kicking up too much of a fuss (hopefully!).
1. Cover them up
Reduce the amount of skin exposed with clothes such as hats with flaps that come down over their necks or light t shirts.
3. Mind their eyes
Children tend to rub their eyes if there is something near them which could lead to a bit of cream in their eye, not fun for anyone.
Perhaps get them a pair of funky sunglasses so they can look like mum or dad, reducing the amount needed around their eyes.
3. Consider a spray
A spray sun screen is a lot less sticky and irritating for children, just make sure they have their eyes closed and hold their breath when applying it to their face!
4. Apply while still in their car seat
Try applying sun cream to toddlers when they are still in their car seat. Hopefully there will be less squirming around if they are still sleepy from the car ride!
5. Make it fun
Make a game of putting their sun cream on like getting them to try to make a certain shape or number with their body as you try to get them covered in all the hard to reach places.
6. Bargain with them
Kids from a young age understand a good bargain. They might be persuaded to allow you to put their sun cream on if you allow them to apply yours after!
