5 cute ways for your little ones to help you in planning your wedding

For some newlyweds, you might have the joy of having your children attend your ceremony. This can add an even more sentimental meaning to your already magical day!

Ahead of your wedding, there are so many things to consider in the planning process, and so it’s no surprise that your little ones will be eager to get involved in helping you out. Of course, many parents opt to have their children included as flower girls or page boys, but you don’t have to stop there!

Below, we have curated some of our favourite suggestions that you can give to your kids when planning your nuptials. It doesn’t have to be anything significant – these tiny details can be enough to remind your young children that they play an important role in your wedding:

Create the invitations

If you’re looking to save some money on your wedding, you could ask your little ones to design your wedding invitations! You could make a request for them to do a wedding-themed drawing, which you can then incorporate into your invitations. All of your guests’ hearts will melt as soon as they see it!

Making the decorations

Decor is such an important part of the atmosphere of your ceremony and reception. If you’re looking to have some personalised bits amongst all of the elegant decorations, then you could enlist your children to help you with this! There are several ways in which they can get involved, such as designing table cards for each table, making banners, or creating unique table centrepieces.

Picking the outfits

Wedding dress and suit shopping is one of the most pivotal days for any bride and groom, and so your children will definitely love to be a part of it, too! Although most little ones are never afraid to give their honest opinion, we also guarantee that they will shower you with love and excitement in the dressing rooms, making sure that you pick the perfect outfit for your big day. Then, afterwards, your youngsters will also have the opportunity to select an outfit for themselves!

Tasting the cake

There’s nothing that little ones take more seriously than tasting food, and so we’re certain that your kids will appreciate a cake tasting session! From chocolate and lemon, to vanilla and red velvet, your children will make sure that the texture and flavours of your wedding cake are 100% approved. Plus, you could also ask them if they would like to have an input into the design of your wedding cake, making it even more special for you and your loved ones.

A family dance

It’s tradition for the bride and groom to enjoy their first dance together at their reception. While we still love the idea of this, we also think that young families could include a second dance, with the addition of their kids. Before your big day, you could ask your children if they would be comfortable with getting on the dance floor with you and your partner, in a dance to celebrate your blossoming family. If they say yes, you can then ask them if they have any specific song requests. It could end up being your favourite moment from your entire wedding day!
