15 things we learned from being snowed in with the kids for five days
As the Big Thaw sets in, it's time to say goodbye to Christmas the Sequel (or Snowmagedden depending on how snowed in you actually were!).
And after five days of good, proper snow, it's time to reflect on the things we learned while being stuck in the house with the kids for so long.
1. That shouting "stay in or out" means absolutely nothing to the kids
2. That three cups of hot chocolate is too much (two is all they can handle)
3. That the kids eat a lot of bread when they're bored
4. That we seriously lack waterproof clothing
5. That the kids can actually get bored of playing on their devices
6. That we don't own enough board games
7. That none of the gloves we have match
8. That a five-year-old has a pretty good snowball aim
9. That they will eat the fruit in the bowl when the cupboards run dry
10. That feeding them every hour is still not enough
11. That siblings really can be the best of friends or the worst of enemies
12. That there really is nothing on TV anymore – one can ony watch Netflix for so long
13. That 2ft of snow is a lot when you're six!
14. That anything turns into a makeshift sleigh – like our brand new oven tray…
15. That having to make school lunches is not as bad as having to make 50 million snacks
So, tell us, what did you learn?
