1. Mia – The Princess Diaries (2001)

After Princess Mia of Genovia, of course! Mia is the shortened version of Amelia, the strong, sassy and elegantly clumsy leading lady from The Princess Diaries. Mia is a gorgeous name for the gorgeous character played by Anne Hatheway that captured our hearts at the turn of the century.

However, if you are more of a Tarantino fan than a Disney head, Mia is also the name of the iconic female character from Pulp Fiction played by the wonderful Uma Thurman in the 1994 cult classic.

2. Wesley- The Princess Bride (1987)

Any Princess Bride fans out there? This is the name of Princess Buttercup's true love, the brave man-in-black who is a mastermind of cunning plans and a keen swordsman. Played by Cary Elwes, this courageous character is the perfect name-spiration for your baby boy.

3. Elle- Legally Blonde (2001)

If Ariana Grande can invoke the spirit of Legally Blonde's iconic female role, you can surely name your little one after her, too! Elle Woods is the perfect character to name your intelligent and independent little girl for- and it sounds gorgeous too.

This is a gorgeously vintage and refined option inspired by the Victorian beauty, Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind. Though Scarlett herself does not meet the happiest of endings, Vivien Lee's haunting depiction of a Victorian American woman during the Civil War is spectacular. If you are looking for sheer DRAMA, feisty yet elegant, Scarlett is a fab option for your little girl.
