10pc of parents have money put aside for their kid's WEDDING
We all know just how expensive weddings are; from the outfits to the venue, the cost of hosting your big day can really add up.
Which is why adult kids sometimes subtly – sometimes not – ask their parents for a few bob.
So it's not really that surprising that 10 percent of parents have put money aside for their child's wedding, according to a new survey by Irish Life.
However, while it is well known that mums and dads often give their kids a dig out – considering we're not one of the 10 percent, our children will have to fend for themselves.
Yup, they'll have to do it the aul modern way: sacrificing nights out, fancy holidays and good hard saving.
But it's not just weddings that Irish Life found concerns us mums…
A significant number of parents (71 percent) surveyed said they are worried their children will struggle financially when they become adults.
Which is why 60 percent have opened a savings account, while seven percent have money aside for inheritance.
But that's not the only thing they are doing to help protect their future.
Over 200,000 parents, that’s 1 in 5 overall, intend to buy life insurance to protect their family this year.
