10 tips for battling that dreaded morning sickness
Pregnancy is a truly beautiful thing, but sometimes the nausea that comes with it can ruin the whole experience for us.
The queasy feeling and discomfort (that doesn't just occur in the morning) can really impact on your day!
While you should always consult with your doctor before taking medication/ vitamins or undergoing certain activities, the following tips will help you feel a little better.
1. Ginger is KING
Add some fresh ginger to your water, as it helps settle the stomach.
2. B6 vitamin
If taken every eight hours, this vitamin been shown to have a significant effect in reducing or stopping vomiting.
3. Water (a glass every hour)
It is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy.
4. Go for a walk
Fresh air will help you relax and recover from your nausea.
5. Ice pops
Fruity ice-pops are a great way to maintain your sugar levels.
6. Herbal tea
Herbal tea will sooth your stomach, and calm your nerves at the same time.
7. Toast/ crackers
Nibble on these throughout the day to avoid hunger.
8. Mint sweets
Eating something fresh can really reduce that nauseous feeling, and can be great to give you a clean taste in your mouth.
9. Eat a protein-rich snack before bed (try a handful of peanuts)
In many cases, a high-protein snack can ease sickness.
10. Light stretching
Having a gentle stretch will reduce stomach cramps.
